Shepherds
Shepherds is a beautiful recently renovated semi-detached cottage located in the tranquil Hamlet of Hutcherleigh in the South Hams. The cottage itself is the perfect base and a wonderful home-from-home offering Guests the luxury of ‘Countryside Living’ with modern perks and designated parking for up to two cars in the Hamlet car park. The Cottage is also only 15 mins from the beach.
Shepherds is on two levels offering family and friends a suitable space for everyone during your holiday. The front terrace, overlooking the Hamlet, is a fantastic sunny spot ideal for a morning coffee or an Alfresco evening meal. From the front patio watch the wildlife run across the roads and wave to the local Farmers that are going about their business, usually in a tractor! The cottage also has a communal orchard roughly 10 yards from the front door of the cottage. This is a great space to enjoy some family garden games and a lovely spot for your four-legged friend to run around with their ball.

Bedrooms
There are 2 double bedrooms, one with a King Size Bed and 1 double. One room has a freestanding bath and there is a newly renovated bathroom with a shower.

Perfect for
Perfect for 1 or 2 sets of couples and families. Cider is dog friendly (2 well-behaved dogs) and we can provide dog beds and bowls. We can also provide high chairs and travel cots for young families.

On Arrival
There are key safe locks where you will find the keys and a welcome pack inside that will provide information on your stay. Saturday changeovers for week breaks. We also offer 3 & 5-day breaks.

Facilities
Shepherds has been set up to make it a home away from home for you and your family/friends. Enjoy our fully equipped country kitchen compete with an electric range cooker, dishwasher and fridge freezer and enjoy your culinary creations in your cottage or outside on the enclosed patio. Essentials such as tea towels, oven gloves, washing up liquid, coffee & tea are all provided for you.

Dog Friendly
Shepherds is designed to be Dog Friendly. The cottages have enclosed front patio areas where you can sit and dine al fresco with the knowledge that your four-legged friend is secure. We will also provide dog beds, bowls & crates on request. There is also the communal orchard where you can stretch your legs and where doggy can do what doggies do!

Shepherds is the perfect location to explore South Devon. Equidistant from the thriving market towns of Totnes, Kingsbridge & Dartmouth and to the beaches of Blackpool sands & the 3 mile beach of Slapton. There’s lots to explore and do and plenty of things to enjoy during your stay.
Shepherds
Inside the cottage on the ground floor is the living room. The brilliant thing about this cottage is in the Summer it is the perfect space to keep you cool with the thick walls and traditional features yet in the Winter, light the wood burner and enjoy the whole cottage warm to a delicious temperature making your Winter stay even more enjoyable and cosy. Relax in the plush sofas and if you have had a full day and fancy a break there is satellite TV with Netflix and Amazon prime available in the cottage too!
Leading from the living room, you will notice the original cottage wooden wall with delicate hand-painted birds and bushes. These paintings were done by the original Owners of the cottage, before Jimi and Flavia, and we would like to share how special these paintings are with you too.
The kitchen/Dining room is well equipped with everything you could need during your holiday with a traditional twist. There is the original, beautiful Belfast sink and an electric Aga, if you want a taste of the country life this cottage is definitely for you. A full-sized fridge and freezer and washing machine have also been provided for your stay.
Up the stairs, you will find the master bedroom, sink into the deepest of sleep in the king-size bed after a good soak in the classic roll-top bath. There is ample storage space to pack your suitcase away for the week.
The second bedroom has a double bed with a built-in wardrobe and ample cupboards for all your belongings. In the middle of the two bedrooms is the family bathroom with a shower cubicle with an electric shower, after a decent night's sleep, everyone loves a good shower to wake themselves up in the morning.

Family Bathroom – Underfloor heating, Heated Towel Rail, Hand Basin, Wall Mounted Mirror, Walk In Thermostatic Shower with Waterfall Overhead and additional Shower Head.
Outside Space – Stone Bench and classic Iron Table and Four Chairs with Umbrella provided on the Terrace. Outdoor Lighting.
Parking – Designated Parking is Provided for up to 2 Cars in the Hamlet Car Park.
Pets – Maximum of 1 well behaved pet Accepted, we charge an additional £25 Per Pet Per Week.
Baby Equipment – Silver Cross Higher Chair, Stair Gate and Travel Cot Provided. Please bring your bedding for the Travel Cot. Please request the Baby Equipment when making the booking.
Changeover Day – Saturday changeover during peaks. 3-night Short Breaks accepted in Low and Mid-Season Mon-Wed, Thurs-Sat & Fri-Mon. 5-night breaks accepted in Low and Mid-Season Mon-Fri.
Notes – No Smoking. A refundable Security Deposit of £150 amount is required with each booking made at the property. A non-refundable booking fee of £25 is payable on booking.
Mains Electric. Oil Heating. Mains Water. Bed Linen and Towels Provided. Please bring your own Beach Towels.
Please be aware the property is in a rural location, you will need to drive along single-track roads and be prepared to reverse if you meet another car in the lanes.
No mobile phone signal (wifi calling available). Guests will be given a starter pack for the log burner however, we provide details of where to buy more throughout your holiday in the welcome folder.
N.B Our Barn retreats are not located on the grounds of The Barn.
