We never book a 7 day break, but this is the start of something new for us. I would totally recommend this destination and either one of the beautiful cottages that are on offer.   • "We just want to say thank you to Flavia, Jimi and the staff for the lovely long weekend we've just spent at The Shepherds Cottage. The Cottage immediately felt like a home from home. Apart from being very comfortable it was immaculately presented and extremely well equipped. We really appreciated the kind gift of wine and free range eggs, the eggs were delicious and we bought another box to take home with us! We enjoyed the wine with a roast dinner on a relaxing Sunday spent in front of the woodburner. I hope that we'll be able to return for a longer period in the future!"

  • "Stayed for a long weekend at Shepherds Cottage through Our Life at the Barn - 4 of us (2 children- 2 and 1). A fabulous stay - the cottage is a good size with everything you need. Very very comfortable, lovely leather sofas and a wood burner for the evenings. Separate kitchen and eating area - 2 double bedrooms with classic bath in one and a shower room. High chairs and stair gates available. Very clean and warm. Parking for 2 cars - play area for kids - and very easy to get to local attractions and towns. One of the best places we have ever stayed."

  • "We spent a lovey few days at Shepherds and Cider, as a family of four adults spread across the two cottages. Our stay was the combination of luxury hotel with cosy and homely cottages. Both are extremely comfortable with everything you could possibly want - well equipped kitchens, hot showers and baths, super comfy beds - the list goes on! They are very well situated with towns and coast just a short drive away. Plus the fresh eggs from the 'ladies' were delicious. Thank you! We do hope to stay again in the future.".

  • "Had a fab relaxing break at Cider Cottage. The cottage is a real home from home and it is just lovely to sit outside and hear the twittering of birds and the buzz of a bee and not much else. Beds are comfy, the shower is lovely and the cottage is equipped well. The doggies loved it and we will be back. The fresh eggs were the loveliest we have had so much so we brought 1/2 dozen back with us.".

  • "A Wonderful Weekend… We stayed in the gorgeous Shepherds Cottage, perfectly equipped with everything you would need for your stay and more. The cottage is beautifully designed and made you instantly feel at home. A perfect retreat to escape the city and take in the incredible surrounding areas. It’s location is perfectly pinned at the centre of local towns, beaches, pubs and country walks for endless opportunity for adventures. The Our Life at the Barn team shared some of the great local gems to visit in the welcome pack - a lovely touch. One of our favourite spots was Totnes, just a short drive to some wonderfully unique shops, markets and coffee shops. You can feel the love the care that has gone into making sure each guest feels welcomed. No doubt we will be back in a heartbeat. Thank you Our Life at the Barn! X.".

  • "My sister and I have just returned from a week at Shepherds Cottage. It was superbly appointed with everything we needed including dog bowls, bed and crate for my dog, even a tub of treats for her. It was a very hot week but the cottage remained cool with its very thick walls. The beds were super comfy with good quality linen and towels. Loads of places to visit nearby and you get used to the narrow lanes! Plenty of information provided on the surrounding area which was very useful. Thank you for such a comfortable stay"

  • "We absolutely loved our stay at Cider Cottage. The kids one of 18 and the other 8 have made me pinky promise that we will come back so a promise, is a promise. This was so central to everything we needed. The dog walker Julie (who you kindly sought for us) was amazing. Our Luna has made some new furry friends and has some amazing pictures of the adventures she had on her day out with them, whilst we went to Paignton Zoo. It’s fair to say this has been one of the most relaxing holidays we have ever had, with a mixture of lazy days in the cottage, and lovely days out and about. We never book a 7 day break, but we’ll worth it. I would totally recommend this destination and either one of the beautiful cottages that are on offer. We also spent a fair bit of time sat in the Orchard whilst our dog Luna played zoomies. For once we didn’t even have to think about packing anything for the dog. We had a crate, dog treats, Bowls - everything you need for your pooch waiting for it’s arrival. Thank you so much for some wonderful memories. Much love ❤️ .".

  • We had a lovely stay in Sheperds last week for 3 nights - we just wish it could have been longer. It is a lovely well equipped cottage. Only 15 minutes drive into Dartmouth which is easy once you cope with the narrow roads. We also had some wonderful Argentine Tango lessons with Flavia which were in a great big dance studio in Dartmouth Leisure centre. Flavia is a great teacher and we learnt loats. We just need to remember it all and practice., practice, practice 😀

  • "Last weekend we had a lovely time visiting @ourlifeatthebarn staying in one of their lovely cottages. We had everything we needed and were so comfortable. They are so close to nearby places, we visited Hope Cove and Dartmouth and jumping across on a Ferry to see Agatha Christie's home. All well worth a visit. Such pretty scenery all around and our cottage was just the perfect little hideout for a few nights. Really enjoyed our stay and hope to visit again!"
